Have a great time!
Welcome to the Anim8or Movie Project Archive. This was an attempt by Anim8or users to create a full-length 3D animated film.
This project is dead, forum will be left on line and unlocked just for educational and archival purposes.
So others can study all our conclusions and learn from our mistakes if someone in future attempts similar project. Or people can come and just look at some pretty models we made while it was alive, let it stand as a monument to what community we once had here ;)
The reasons for doing this were to practice and improve our skills and to show that Anim8or is capable of generating better results than people think. By quality of our work that you can see we have proven that, but we also realized how Anim8or is not a software in which that quality is easily achieved. I'm not trying to put all the blame on Anim8or for this project's failure, but I would be lying to deny that that is at least somewhat true. The other reason is simply that we took on more that we could handle.
In the meantime, I, the director of the project went on and created a separate movie alone by myself. It's a non-profit movie ofcourse and only lasts about 5 minutes, I'm just gonna leave it here and hope you enjoy it :) Gallery of the anim8or movie project works is right below it!
The following text is pure history:
If you are just starting out using Anim8or this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn the ropes in the shortest amount of time. You will be working with people who know what they are doing and will help you when you need it. You will be part of a community effort to create a movie using Anim8or. As the movie grows so will your experience/skill level in 3D. If you're a pro user, you can help newer users, and perhaps learn a little yourself.
If you're a 2D artist, musician, audio technician, or voiceactor, the same applies. You'll learn from others, and they'll learn from you. The more people working together, the better the end result and the more we learn together.
